So you have committed yourself to controlling your weight and you are intelligent enough to realize that you will be more successful with some professional assistance. Outstanding! You’ve come to the right place. Because you’re serious about managing your weight I’m sure you have already increased your daily physical activity and began to closely monitor your diet. This small change has probably already produced a noticeable difference in your self-image, energy level, and most importantly, it has reinforced your self-confidence and desire to achieve your desired body weight. If this change slipped your mind, don’t give it a second thought. Not everyone remembers to take that small first step, especially when that step is taken alone. So do it now. Right now. Make a commitment to your physical and mental well being this instant. Increase you physical activity today even if it is in a small way. Walk out to get your mail or newspaper. If you usually do this then walk a block past your mailbox (don’t worry about the bathrobe but you might want to lose the fuzzy slippers. They could give you a blister.). Do it today and do it every day this week. And just like that you have begun an

Exercise Program

An exercise program is arguably the most important factor in achieving your weight management goals. It raises your metabolism and encourages your body to utilize stored fat as an energy source. We use the word “program” because exercise in itself is not enough. You must be aggressively involved in structuring and managing your daily activity. If you are already exercising daily, wonderful! Notice then that I also mentioned that terrible “D” word.

Diet.

“Diet” is an invaluable word that has received a bad reputation. First, we are going to change your definition of the word “diet”. Even if you do not elect to utilize our program you should still do this right now as the psychological gain it will give you in any weight management program is immeasurable.

The word diet, henceforth, shall refer to the usual food and drink enjoyed by an individual. A diet is the food and drink that you enjoy. A diet is a wonderful, enjoyable thing.

Now what change are we making today with regard to your diet? If you haven’t already, we are going to closely monitor your diet. That’s it. I want you to be acutely aware of the food and drink you enjoy on a daily basis. Don’t change it, don’t judge yourself for it, and don’t quantify it with a scale. Just that fast and easy you are well on your way to actively controlling your weight.

Notice please that I didn’t say, “…you are well on your way to losing weight.” That’s an important distinction that should not be overlooked. Already you are working to change the bad habits that have kept you saddled with those extra pounds. “Losing” weight implies just that. You jump on a fad diet and your weight is lost. But what do you always do when you lose something? You look for it. And you will usually find it. This is a function of the subconscious mind. You tell it something is “lost” and to protect you it will attempt to find it. Further, the word “lose” is both a passive word as well as a negative word. You do not need to do anything to lose something and losing something is almost always bad. Without the conscious mind actively superceding this thought, your subconscious will work to prevent you from losing. It doesn’t want you to lose because it knows all the bad feelings that you associate with loss. That is why our program encourages you to control your weight. This empowers you to reduce or gain weight as you see fit. You are actively managing your weight with a powerful, active word. Your subconscious prefers you in control and will work with you, towards your goals now, simply because you changed the word. Your subconscious truly is that powerful.

Changing the word
changes the thought,
which changes the feeling,
which changes the outcome.

So I haven’t even given you my phone number yet and you have already changed three bad habits and replaced them with healthy, weight-managing habits.

  1. I decided today to exercise more for my health and well-being.
  2. My diet is critical in my weight management and I enjoy it.
  3. I am in control of my weight. I choose to gain or cast off pounds.

Now all that remains is to give yourself the ultimate psychological edge. Give us a call and set up an appointment.
